A memorial is ……
Increasingly, there is a desire to skip the funeral altogether. It may be that there are concerns about costs or undue fuss. It may be because it just isn’t necessary to go through the formal ceremony in your mind. Whatever the reason, it is now possible to arrange a cremation without a funeral.
If that is what was wanted by the deceased and by relatives and friends, then it may be that a memorial some time afterwards feels appropriate.
A memorial can take any shape or form, from a party to celebrate the loved one’s life, or the planting of a tree or other plant, to scattering the ashes. Whatever the format, it can be useful to have someone to organise the details. It could be to write tributes, suggest poetry or other readings, or to navigate practicalities. In any case, a celebrant can help to ensure it runs smoothly and that it is given the amount of gravitas that the family desires.
Having a memorial, especially when there has been no formal funeral enables loved ones to experience closure and can help them grieve. It can also be a great way to celebrate their loved one’s life in their own authentic way.
Fees
The cost of a memorial is from £300
